Hi!
That's the text I told you yesterday. I have written it on Tuesday when I had writing test and I got the best result ever! I am so so happy about it that I could get good points without translater, books, dictionary or any other helper. So maybe I have some hope to get good writing points on my English final test. I really need it because my English skills aren't so good and listening part will be so out of my world! But now the text wrote.
"In India, Japan and Africa older people might live with other family memebers. In those countries and continents family means grandparents, parents and children. Maybe girl- or boyfriends and cousins as well. Family takes care of older ones because people appreciate their knowledge and experiences.
In those countries big families are normal. But any way I'm sure that especially teens can't always be happy that they can't have their own time with friends. But it's not only those older people. It's more about taking care of kids and helping mother or father with homework. Older people can not only help with kids but also with houseworklike cooking. And children can learn a lot from the elderly.
Here in Finland we should learn a lot. We put our great natural resources to hospitals and housessa for the elderly. For sure many of them are happy with friends, activities and good care. But I guess that at least as many are unhappy because they don't meet their relatives so often.
Our society prefers younger workers and loses a lot. We shoulduse older people's knowledge and experiences at work and everywhere. I'm sure that a 60-year-old person known much more than a just graduated one and 30 years younger person. Of course!
We have to appreciate the elderly by giving activities and work for them and listening to their stories."
